Our stay in this large and busy city was short and a bit dissapointing. It was strange getting back to a big city after having been in so many cute little towns. We did some site seeing, such as visit the Mercado Central (a six story spiral building), Praia do Futuro (best beach in Fortaleza), Iracema (where the Ponte dos Ingleses is located), Beira Mar (Feira Artesanal), Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar, and we even watched movies (Zodiac and Pirates)! We also visited with the friends we made in Ubajara from South Africa and drank some caipirinhas at the beach!

Have you ever gotten drunk off of juice!? Well, apprently it´s possible according to Andre! We were walking along Beira Mar beach and we decided we wanted some natural juice. We saw this beautiful restaurant called Boi Preto and thought, hey, how much can they charge for some juice? We went in and they treated us like royalty; we ordered two juices not knowing that they were going to bring us two pitchers of juice! We sat there and chatted, drank juice, chatted some more, but mainly drank lots of juice! After a while, Andre started feeling a little tipsy, and wouldn´t give up on the idea that he was drunk! We finally left the place with tummys full of juice and a very drunk Andre who stumbled all the way to the bus stop! Oh, juice at a fancy restaurant is still juice at a fancy restaurant and is therefore very expensive.

Marcela is back from Chile and her mom has recovered very well from her surgery. Thanks so much to all of you for keeping in touch with us and sending so much positive energy. We are now finally together again and will be continuing our trip as planned.

Thanks to Aladir and her family for having us stay in her house in Fortaleza and a huge thanks to Átila and his family for letting Andre bum around for two weeks in João Pessoa!

I love you mom!!! We´ll be seeing you again very soon!!

Nossa estadia nesta cidade grande e atarefada foi curta e um pouco desapontante. Foi estranho estar de volta em uma cidade grande depois de estar em tantas cidades pequenas bonitas. Fomos em alguns lugares famosos, como visitar o Mercado Central (uma construção de lojas de 6 andares em espiral), a Praia do Futuro (a melhor praia de Fortaleza), Iracema (onde fica a Ponte dos Ingleses), Beira Mar (uma feira artesanal), o Centro Cultural Dragão do Mar e até assistimos filmes (Zodiaco e Piratas)! Nós visitamos com os amigos da África do Sul que fizemos em Ubajara e tomamos algumas caipirinhas na praia!

Vocês já ficaram bêbados de suco!? Bem, aparentemente é possível, de acordo com André! Nós estávamos andando pela praia Beira Mar e decidimos tomar um suco natural. Avistamos um lindo restaurante chamado Boi Preto e pensamos, "ei, quanto deve ser um suco?" Nós entramos e nos trataram como Reis; compramos dois sucos sem saber que iam nos trazer dois jarros de suco! Nós sentamos lá e conversamos, bebemos suco, conversamos mais, mas principalmente bebemos muito suco! Depois de um tempo, André começou a se sentir tonto, e insistiu que estava bêbado! Finalmente, saímos de lá com nossas barrigas cheias de suco e André bêbado, foi tropeçando todo o caminho até o ponto de ônibus! Ah, suco em um restaurante chic ainda é suco em um restaurante chic, e portanto é bem caro.

Marcela está de volta do Chile e sua mãe se recuperou muito bem da cirurgia. Muito obrigado à todos por manterem contato conosco e nos enviar tanta energia positiva. Estamos finalmente juntos de novo e vamos continuar nossa viagem como planejado.

Obrigado à Aladir e sua família por nos abrigar em sua casa em Fortaleza e um grande obrigado à Átila e família por deixarem André ficar por duas semanas em João Pessoa!
