Left Puente and started to make my way to the second village on route, the hilltop town of Cirauqui, for breakfast, only to find that the coffee shop didn´t open until 11am! Fortunately, I´d had a machine coffee at the hostel before I left but I was still pissed off as I had talked myself into having a coffee. I bought some orange juice (Apparently there´s a difference between Florida OJ and California OJ!)and enjoyed it with a croissant. Hiked the rest of the way stopping only for a coffee in the next town serving it 9Km away! Sat down with my Irish friend and we continued to walk the rest of the way to Estella together.

It was hot all day today which was a first. Usually, it´s been nice and cool in the mornings and hot once I reach my port of call.

They were giving out cups of thick hot choc sauce...

Walking into Estella we passed, what we first thought was horse manure but later found out it was a blended feed plant, where they put animal carcasses in to become animal feed. Ironically enough, after passing it, it smelt a lot like a McDonalds burger! Now you know!

Just up then straight down!

I saw a sign pointing out that Estella had a pool and sought it out straight after checking in. Walking to the pool I also saw a sign mentioning the Festival de San Pedro which included a Chocoladad at 7pm!

I enjoyed the pool which was freezing cold. (I was checking for ice cubes!) I enjoyed it until the local kids jumped in and made a lot of splashing once they realised the temperature. Laid in the sun remembering to Slip, Slop and Slap but alas, got a litle burnt of back of knees (A walkers favourite spot!)

Just making it up the steps was a pilgrimage!

Went back to the hostel and ran into a couple that I met on day 2 in Larasoana. An English bloke that moved to Spain with his Spainish wife. Infact, where I met them on Day 2 was only 1.5hrs from their home! They were staying at the same hostel as me too! I heard some commotion on the way home and went to investigate only to find the Choc fest! They were giving out cups of thick hot choc sauce with bread to dunk. Niiiiice!

A group of us met up for dinner but not before a quick detour via the choc fest again. Largest portions of food ever! Full 3 course meal that none of us could finish for €11!

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time - fancy them organising your favourite type of festival - chocolate!!! Good thing you are walking off all those calories! In future a little bit more sunscreen and a little bit less choc dunking!!
