School and driving
From Veenendaal's Journey in Tennant Creek, Australia on May 06 '07

The scenery changed as we drove further inland, from tropical to just low shrubs almost desert like again.
The kids are trying to stay on top of their school which is a constant battle.
Did not actually make it all the way down to Tennant Creek, about 100 km north was our turn-off at Three Ways Roadhouse.
No sign of Ayers Rock as we turned, will have to keep that for another day.
We stopped for the night, the flies were bad until the sun went down, than they suddenly disappeared. But out came the grasshoppers, these things are huge they could easily put a dent in your vehicle as you drive and hit them.
We did some star gazing. The stars are incredible here, definitely innumerable.
We even saw the big dipper, upside down right on the horizon.
