Everything is going well here. We crossed the equator around midnight on June 7th, and this time we had an "equator party" on the fantail. Everyone brought their instruments out again, and I borrowed Professor Knight's handheld GPS device so we could count down to zero......

it was great fun playing the guitar and drums and waiting to come back "home" to the Northern hemisphere. Now that we're here again we're back in tropical weather and have had light rainstorms for two days now.

Everyone brought out their instruments again and I borrowed a handheld GPS so we could count down to zero

We're on Cocos Island on Sunday!!! Yay!! Although, as it turns out, we only

get to spend 4 hours on the island, which is half as much time as originally

promised...(how am I supposed to find my treasure in only four hours??)

Then, we have Monday back on the ship and then Tuesday through Thursday

we're in our final port: Golfita, Costa Rica. I'm very excited for both places.

Well, that's all for now. I have to go and study because I have two big

midterms coming up before port. Speaking of which, I am really enjoying my

Stars & Galaxies class, and my Biological Anthropology, they're really

fascinating and are making me realize that I do actually enjoy science and

am pretty good at it. Oceanography is surprisingly boring and dull, though.

Until next time... Baie, baie liefde -- Marlize
