My flight to Paris got in around 11am.  This gave me 3 hours to figure out how to get into the city, sleep, and then wait for my parents' flight to come in at 1pm.  Charles de Gaulle is one confusing airport!  I was so happy to see my parents!  We took the long metro into the city.  Luckily our stop was close to our hotel.  We started our first day in Paris by walking through the town, by the Seine, and stopping for lunch.

Then, in my Paris researching I found the Louvre was opened later on Fridays and has discounted prices after 6pm.  So, we took advantage of the prices and fewer people on a Friday night.  Students actually get in free on Friday night!  Woohoo!  We spent a couple hours there..made sure to see all the really important stuff.  From the Louvre, we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries and by the Place de La Concorde.  We were heading to the Eiffel Tower because my Australian friends here told me it does a little light show on the hour at night.

At 10pm, we were close to the Eiffel Tower but didn't have a very good view of it...it's ok though because it's still light outside in Paris at 10pm.  We finished walking to the Eiffel Tower and hung around until the 11pm showing of the lights.  It was really cool!
