This weekend we, a group of 12, decided to go to Mar del Plata.  It is about a 5 to 6 hour bus ride to this beach.  Before we left we heard that this is a hot spot for the summer months but this didnt really set in until we arrived on the beach!  IT WAS SERIOUSLY packed from jetty to jetty (oceanography vocabulary).  Some of us arrived late on Thursday to a hostel callled Hostel Grande.  It was a colorful place with a clown show going on and a group of thrity adults with dreads laughing their asses off.  Needless to say when we were checking in the clowns said in spanish  SHUT UP!  It was really quite silly to be confronted by a clown in our hostel.  It was such a fun hostel and words can not give it justice but there was balconys and it was all open so the sun would beat down on you when you leave your room.  It was acutally really pretty.

Our first night there we hung out with the clowns.  IT WAS THE FUNNIEST moment ever.  They were hilarious and the thought of hanging out with these clowns, actually they were actors, makes me want to cry of laughter.

Friday we went to the beach and like i said before it was so packed.  We had to buy a place for shade because, sorry i know this is going to hurt all of you in Minnesota and Wisco, it was so hot and the sun was so direct that being in the sun for more then 10 minutes would have been a beating on our bodies.  It was so much fun body surfing too.  The waves were perfect and we all recieved some nice face plants into the beach.  One girl, Hannah, who is SUPER shy but extremely nice came back looking like she just got robbed.

After spending  7 hours in the sun we ran back to shower.  It was our goal to get some good seafood so we went to the center of Mar del Plata and ate at a really nice resturant.  Three of us shared a seafood dish with a variety of seafood and it was amazing.  After wine and fish and dessert my stomach was full and so was my wallet, the dinero cost about 10 US dollars.

Ok so here comes the good part!  We heard about this discoteca that was amazing so we decided to check it out.  Like I mentioned in another blog that people dont start going out until after 2 so we walked around until about 2;30 and then went to Sobremonta, otherwise known as the Playboy mansion.  It was insane!  It was an open club with 7 different places you can go.  There was the techno with go-go dancers, a glass pyramid with some other techno, three spots with different colors and cream luxury couches with light music, then there was a latino music that had fantastic dancers in front of the club who actually know how to dance.  MY favorite room of alll was the horrible 80´s and 90´s North American music, yeah we are talking about the YMCA, girls just wanna have fun, and RESPECT! haha It was so much fun and was crowded from wall to wall.  The earlier in the morning it got the more people there was in the club.  I have never seen a place like this before, it was so beautiful and such a wonderful time. By the time we left it was 6;30 and we watched the sun rise in our taxi.  Needless to say we did the same thing the next day and night!  It was a fantastic weekend, and i advice you to all come and visit.

One last little tid-bit.  We left Mar del Plata at 5;30 and arrived in Buenos Aires at 2 in the morning!  How does that happen you ask yourself?  Well our bus broke down and for two hours we sat there completly confused and watching everyone else really annoyed and calling people! I guess there was to be something like this to complete a trip.  We got on another bus finally and arrived home to a clean room and made beds!  SCORE!

p.s. Amanda and I did not wake up to our alarm and wake up 15 mintues until class started.  As I sit here with unbrushed teeth, a screaming headach because I am so dehydrated, and a hungery stomach, I want to just crawl into my bed and home and sleep for days, actually I want to walk outside into the warmth and go to the flower gardens. :)  Love you all!
