Blowholes and first taste of Ningaloo Reef
From Veenendaal's Journey in Carnarvon, Australia on Apr 22 '07
Sixty Km north of Carnarvon are the Blowholes. We arrived there just as it was light yet. The blowholes were spectacular, you could hear the air rushing through before the water spouted up like a huge fountain. It was somewhar eery, a Japanese tourist was just killed here. He was too daring, got too close and was sucked in by the water. They never found him, his flip-flops were still standing there and some flowers.
On top of the rocks there were pools of water, the water evaporates and leaves crystals of salt. Ask Janelle she tasted them.

We spent the night here and in the morning we did some snorkling on the beach. There was a piece of reef just within meters of the beachs and we head our first glimpse of coral, clams, sea urchins, anenomes and multi coloured fish.Ian even saw an octopus.
Beautiful.
