I guess I'll start at the beginning...I always seem to have an interesting time getting myself home from France. This trip seems to be the funniest out of all of them. So before I leave Mom prepares me with all my options incase one of my flights gets cancelled, etc. One of the things that Mom tells me is that I am flying to Munich and have about 20 minutes to make it to a flight from Munich to Toronto but that I probably wouldn't make that one intime so no worries I'll just wait around for 5 hours to catch the next flight. Me being me I was determined that I was going to make the first flight back to Toronto no matter what it took. Sooo, I wake up at 4:30am to take a 30 Euro, 15 minute cab ride to the airport (No biggie!) Get to the airport, get of my flight...everything is great. As we are in the air a nice man beside me started talking to me and I told him that I was trying to make a flight to Toronto but only had about 20 minutes to get there....and he actually laughed in my face. We land  and Im all ready to run through passport control and to my gate...but with my luck we didn't land at a gate...we had to take a bus to get to the terminal. But, again me being Jen, I still thought that I could make it. We finally make it to the terminal and I go racing to passport control. Luckily I picked a quick line and the guy was nice and didn't keep me there too long. I then race to get upstairs....when I get there the nice man that I sat beside on the plane had raced up before me to see what gate my next flight was at (he probably thought i was crazy like the rest of the airport). So here goes Jen....(just picture this) with a laptop case, a purse, a suitcase, a winter jacket wearing heels, a skirt and a shirt that was probably a bit too revealing as I later found out. Let me tell you, it was like a scene from a movie...I went running, bumping into people along the way just to get to my gate. I was so worried about getting to it that I went right past it and went to the wrong gate where the girl laughed at me and told me I was at the wrong place. SO I went running back to find the real gate. As soon as I got there I saw that the plane was still attached to the bridge but that there was no one waiting to get on the plane. I rushed up to the Air Canada staff and pleaded with them to let me on the plane. The one lady said that I was too late and that I couldn't get on...but a nice man took my passport and let me through. I was on cloud 9. I ran down the bridge and on to the plane. As soon as I got on I looked down only to see that my top half had basically fallen out of my shirt (thats probably why the man was so nice) and that my skirt was now on sideways - I looked like a mess. I looked down at my watch and the time was 4:58, the plane was supposed to leave at 5 - I later found out that it had been delayed because of a food situation and quite frankly I have never been so happy for one of my flights to be delayed.

After the long flight Mom and Dad met me at the airport and took me home. I spent a couple of days catching up with them as well as my grandparents and brother and then decided it would be a great idea to visit the girls in London. I almost missed this flight due to traffic but luckily Dad had to actually work a flight and got us there on time. I spent a great couple of days in London. It happened to be the weekend before Halloween so they got me all dressed up and we went out and had a great night. I also got to catch up with some Bangor friends and a teacher that I volunteered with last year. All in all it was a great trip.

Of course, on travels back I hit another road bump. Long story short I get into Paris and check-in. The lady doesn't give me a seat because it is pretty full - no worries Im used to it. Get through security and head to the stand-by line to see if I can get on the flight. The girl looks at me and tells me I am missing part of my ticket. She tells me to go over to the gate and they will deal with it. So I head over thinking it was going to be fine...but the Air France lady tells me I am missing a part of my ticket and so I need to go back through security to find the lady who checked me in because she forgot to give something back to me. I walked away and almost started to cry. I was going to call my Mom to ask her what to do but my French cell phone was dead...lovely! SO I stood there wondering how I was going to find the lady who checked me in (because this is about an hour later and who knew where she had gone). But then I decided that I was going to put up a little bit of a fight. So I went back up to the lady and argued a bit (not rudely Mom...I was just firm with her!) And she finally made some calls and realized it wasn't my fault and that my ticket was still valid and off  I went to Nice.
