Came from some Mayan ruins at Tulum to see even more ruins at Chichen Itza.

These ones are well cool. The site is huuuuge and thankfully it was fairly cloudy and even rained whilst we were there (although Im not sure Vicky was too impressed with the weather)  Only got about another 3 and a half months to get a suntan - dont know how we will manage it!

The main building is a big pyramid which is really smart. Its definately up there with the Colleseum in Rome, and Turf Moor in Burnley! (VW - "naughty"!!!!).

We got there well early as we were staying nearby. We even beat the locals who try to sell you artifacts and stuff. But are surprisingly non aggressive about it. They must get shot if they hassle tourists.

Went down to the massive Cenote which is a big natural well. The picture doesnt really show how huge it is. Apparantly they used to throw sacrifices in such as animals and children. Theyve stopped now though I think. (maybe was getting a bit full)

It was quite a long walk to that bit so we stopped for a drink. Thats where I luckily knew enough Spanish "Los Baños?   Donde Estas?    Rapido !!"  as all the Mexican Food decided to catch up with me and flow like the blood of a sacrificed Mayan bloke.

see we really were there!!

We stayed at The Delores Alba which looks like a luxury hotel compared the hostels we are supposed to be using.  But its only a couple of quid more and was ace.   2 swimming pools.  The rooms are a row of big gay pink bungalows.  And there were a couple of Iguanas knocking around too.  Definately recommend it as it is very close to the ruins.

Liked it so much we stayed 3 nights and just chilled out before getting back on the road..... to Merida where we are now. leave tomorrow for Campeche (at least we think thats what we asked for at the bus station.... more next time)

Just seen the photos and you must be really sad to be missing the English winter! Not to mention getting up at 5.30 every day and waiting for trains that don't turn up. Hope Dunc's feet and other bits are back to normal now.

We've just had a look at your latest updates and are well jealous. Dunc I sympathize with your feet burning episode, but at least you are prepared for the ritual coal walking in the Interior. Vic why are you wearing long sleeves in Chichen Itza? To fend off the mossies? By the way neither of you mention the words Shower or bath, so we are going to throw you in the Pacific when you get here : ) Enjoy!!! Keep journaling

Sorry to be the one to tell you Duncs, but Blackburn are through to the semi-finals after a 2-0 win against Man City. Hope this doesn't ruin your next half hour or so. Still awaiting a comment on this bloke that the pretty girl's with.

Is it the sun or was your spelling (that's a "p" not an "m")always crap? Or should that be "always the blood of a sacrificial whatsit" I'm in the exotic northern isle of Orkney. Not QUITE so warm but lots of old ruins posing as patients. Glad it's all going well. (Vicky - someone made the comment "She's a pretty girl") Nobody's commented on you yet Dunc's I'm afraid.
