Salzburg!
Our newest favorite city is Salzburg, Austria. This place is absolutely amazing. It is literally built AROUND a mountain with a fortress on top. It oozes with the Sound of Music and Mozart too! Okay, brace yourselves…..we attended a Catholic Mass at Salzburg Cathedral (all in German). The music was phenomenal and sent chills up and down our spines. There was a full orchestra, choir, soloists, and an awesome pipe organ, (JoAnne & Beth – you would have loved the four dueling pipe organs which adorned the sides of the sanctuary). After church we visited the staterooms of the Prince Arch-bishop Wolf Deitrich, the Salzburg Fortress including a ride up the funicular, Mozart’s birth house, and a Toy Museum. Whew! But it was fun and exciting!
