Day 39-43 Vietnam - Saigon.

First stop was Ho Chi Minh City. We liked HCMC/Saigon. We went to the Cu Chi tunnels – which was one of the villages attacked by America. We saw a video when we arrived – which was slightly biased. Anyway the reason this place is interesting is because the Cu Chi people built underground tunnels that they hid in and lived. These tunnels were so narrow and small– Jag's would have struggled getting in. The Vietnamese people are very small and thin – so as the guide said 'the tunnels are for the Vietnamese people not Americans.' We went in a 100m tunnel that was rebuilt but a lot bigger than the original. Seriously this was hard work – can't imagine how people went through the real tunnels. We also fired an AK47 – Jag's idea. To me a guns a gun but to him it's much more. Quick fact – 8million people in HCMC and 4million motorbikes – the streets were littered with bikes. Crossing the roads in Vietnam require real balls. You basically have to step into the road with on coming traffic and keep walking till you get to the other side and hope that the cars and millions of bikes will dodge you. CRAZY I tell you.

To me a guns a gun but to him it's much more.

We went to a Caedai temple – a very new religion set up in the 20's. They've taken most of the mejor religions and combined them together to make Caedaism. We spent 2 days on the Mekong Delta. We saw how the people lived in the delta. It was amazing to see that the people used the water to wash dishes, clothes, themselves, their hair and we even saw some kids relieving themselves in it. Not nice. But the people relied so much on it. We went to 2 floating markets and saw how the locals shopped. It was an interesting trip.
