Fly in over the bright lights of Barcelona...didn´t realise it was such a big city! Step of the plane and am pretty quickly reminded of the fact i´m now in a Spanish speaking city where i ´No entiendo espanol´(Dont understand Spanish)! Can´t find my bag, which i´m told is not here, given a lack of 40hrs sleep i´m not impressed and start to lose it just as my bag is wheeled over! Thank God for that! Amber & Paul pick me up from airport and take me to hotel down by the beach where i´m staying. Have breif catch up over a mojito (not the same as Green Room Linda) but they have early departure on their boat at 6ish so its a quiet night.

Day 1 - Wake up around 5pm Barcelona time after a 15hr sleep! Not bad! Walk through the city and check out some of the sites. Stumble across the Cathedral which is pretty cool. The streets are all so small and weave in and out of each other, so you get lost pretty easily.
Not sure what day i´m on now? However, have an interview with the yacht agency here which goes well. Manage to charm the lady here who is in charge of sending out the CV´s, and get contacted by one boat within the hour. Met the crew and went over the boat, which is pretty nice. First offer though and not quite sure its right so will keep looking.

Day 4? maybe 5? - Worked on a beautiful big superyacht yesterday ´Willpower´, polishing and cleaning. The crew were really lovely, a english couple, and i´m hopeful that they may take me as full time stewy if i impress them. Owner is from Perth and currently onboard with her family. The boat is beautiful, so fingers crossed. Got another call today from a guy looking for an all rounder from mid may-september going from barcelona up through greece. He sounded really nice, and sent my CV to the owner, so will find out Monday if its a goer or not. Just realised its a saturday and agency isn´t open, so probaly won´t get anymore offers until monday. Spent the day on the beach today relaxing, after dropping my CV at ´Willpower´. Met a nice italian guy who is starting a gelato shop up. hes been in the US for the past 10 years so speaks good english. He was quite impressed i had italian family Ennio! Anyway, now in hostel which is quite different from the hotel but nice. Its clean, and in my room of 6 everyone seems really nice. One girl is from OZ, and the rest from USA. Its amazing how much you appreciate an english conversation when most of what you hear is spanish. Slowly picking up the basics of the language, but finding sign language is pretty international!

1 Week - Ended up having a late night, after clubbing with new friends from hostel. Went down to Port Olympia which was madness! Bars go underground and out onto the beach, and don´t start pumping until about 2am. I think every place we went gave us free drinks, so not sure how they make money, but i´m not complaining! Finish up about 5am and back to hostel for quick nap. Up again at 9am, as no room in the inn left! Moved back to hotel for 1 night, but hopeful to have job within the next couple of days. After dropping bags, and grabbing a powerade, wander up to the train station. keep cruising around, and stumble across the zoo which is pretty good. After this stop for lunch, and decide to take hte 1hr walk to the famous Sagranda familia (Maybe not the best idea in 28 degree sun!) arrive at the amazing catherdral and run into the girls from the boat i had been doing daywork on. Cruise around the place which is amazing. It was started by Gaudi in 1882 and is hoping to be finished by 2025. The photos don't do it any justice whatsoever, but the place is amazing! Everything is so detailed and artistic!

Next day, on the boat for daywork and get offered a trial period on the boat, which is leaving in the morning for France. Decide to do it, so its back to the hotel to pack my bags, then bed as we leave at 6am for Cannes, France...
