Dashing ahead of a major storm, we zoomed down the North Island towards the ferry in a 4 day driving marathon.  Yet in Napier we did take a tour of the National Aquarium (small but kind of interesting) and spent a couple of hours at the Pukaha Mt. Bruce National Wildlife Centre.  We drove through sweeping valleys and perched on the edges of mountains lining deep gorges.  The weather followed us all the way back to Wellington where we spent one last night before limping home, tired, dirty and spent.  Just what everyone is looking for in a holiday.
