Charming Portland

I only got to spend two days and one night in Portland, but it was enough for me to be utterly charmed by the place.  Beautiful, green, and bicycle friendly, and has a great arts and music scene.  I was there during an allegedly rare heatwave, hence the people playing in the fountain in this photograph I took.  Spent the day wandering around the city on foot, and a lot of time at the awesome independent bookstore, Powell's. Then my friend and I met up and drove to the nearby Pacific coast, where I ran in the chilly water and we ate dinner at a fabulous place whose name I can't recall, eating wild salmon in front of a huge window during sunset.
