We woke up in the morning and I ate soooooo much at the breakfast buffet that they had at the hostel. I had to try to get my money's worth out of that night. Anyway, then we walked back to town and caught a boat to Lausanne.

Lausanne is a very very nice town. They had an Olympic Museum there, apparently it's the home of the IOC. Anyway the Olympic Museum was unbelievable. As you walk up the garden to get to the site they have metal arcs in the lawn. At first I thought this was nothing, just represented the Olympic rings, but they you read the signs and they were actually the World records for long jump, high jump, triple jump. When you're watching the games on TV you hear the numbers and you see the athletes jump but it doesn't really hit you exactly how amazing their accomplishments really are. If someone had asked me beforehand if things like that were possible I probably would have said that they weren't. Anyway, the museum itself had a lot of exhibits set up and lots of cool things, but we weren't allowed to take pictures inside so I won't be able to post anything for you to look at from inside.

After the museum we walked up the hill, Lausanne is basically built on a very steep hill that leads down to Lake Geneva. We wandered through the old town, which wasn't very exciting. Then we walked up to some random huge wooden tower that was built in the forest high up on the hill. The view from the top was really nice. After this we hussled down to the train because it was already almost 8pm and we still had 3 hours of train riding to do before we got home.

The trip was a huge success. I had lots of fun.
