Today was new years eve, it was very exciting. A couple of days ago all of the Aussies and Kiwi's had organised to get tickets to go to Amsterdam Rhino. It was kind of a pub/restaurant in the day but come night and it is a night club with 4 different rooms that all play different genres of music. So my plans for New Years Eve was set.
I decided to go shopping today, for what? I don't know it's just one of the urges you get, and today I felt the urge to shop. Maybe it was all the boxing day sales that they've got on. People have been coming back home with bags and bags for cheap cheap prices. So I had to check it out myself. I decided to go to the 2 biggest Shopping malls in Calgary, first stop was Market Mall then Chinook Shopping Centre. Market Mall was one big level with loads of shops and Chinook was smaller in size but made it up by having multi-levels. At the end of the day the only bargain that I picked up was a pair of cargo pants which drop from $70 to $20. I also bought 2 rings to wear. Now I never was a jewellery kind of guy but the new year brings new things. So I decided to get a thumb ring and also a ring for my index finger. Both rings are pretty cool, the thumb ring had a raised mid section with diagonal groves in it all the way around and the other ring was 3 round rings locked into each other and they roll on top of each other when you put it on.
When I came home, I just dropped everything down and went to visit people around the area to see what everyone was doing and what time they were all heading out. One of the guys had ordered a taxi for 9.30pm so I decided to tag along with them. Now that I've got my transport set. I relaxed a bit with a beer and then hopped to another house to see what other peoples plans were. By the time 8pm came, I scored dinner with Dave - a kiwi dude. I owe him dinner now. After dinner I went back to my house to take a shower and got changed and then brought my bottle of Vodka over to Claire, Rebecca, Leanne, and Gabs house. Since they seemed to be the only ones around and everyone else seems to have bolted off downtown already. Once I got to Claire's house, Leanne who had a very low tolerance with Alcohol seemed like she was plastered already. I was told she had 2 drinks. She was stumbling everywhere, giggling to anything and everything and even falling off her seat when we were taking pictures. Then we carried her on the couch so she can rest up but 2 seconds later she rolled off. So we left her lying on her stomach and we placed a pillow under her head. The next minute, I saw red liquid spreading all over the pure white pillow, at first I thought she was bleeding but after further examination she had acutally thrown up all over her hair with chunks coming out and all. It was nasty. While everyone was happily taking pictures, her room mate had to take the obligation of cleaning it all up. It was only 9pm at this time and it looks like she won't be making it to the countdown. Our taxi soon came afterward so I had to run.

Once we got to Amsterdam Rhino, it wasn't packed out but it was pretty lively anyhow. Most of the Aussies from COP were already there hitting the drinks. So I shortly got stuck into it, we took photo's, kissing photo's, group photos. It was great knowing people there, we were all there just to have one wild overseas New Years Eve party. There was like 40 of us that new each other there and it was pretty hard walking 2 metres without knowing the next person. As it came closer and closer to the minute of 2007. Everyone huddled around saying we should find someone for the Midnight New Years Kiss. I mean the girls were even in on this one. The next second everyone scattered off in there own seperate ways looking and searching for that someone. Then I ran into Steele. One of the Aussies, he said "I thought there was going to be a countdown". I looked at my watch and it was 12:03am. Well no countdown at all that surely sucked. Steele looked at me in the eye for a second with a playful affection and it clicked in my mind what he was getting at and I said "Hell NO". We then laughed and went for another round of drinks then it was back to the party again. Later on that night, I was in the house room trying to shake it away on the dance floor and I met a great Canadian girl Amber and we talked and had drinks then later on she invited me to a house party that she was going to so I tagged along with her. It was interesting going to a house party since the party was in the basement and it was all decked out with comfy couches, strobe lights, disco lights and toilets and everything. It was an absolute great NYE for me in Canada. I didn't end up getting to bed until 6am.
