Safaris
From South Africa in South Africa on Jun 21 '05
I went to South Africa duting the dry season, which is the Best time to go to see wildlife, due to the heat and lack of water in the National parks the human race has to step in and build man made water holes, this is great for tourests who want to see wildlife, because the animals come to those spacific areas to grase and drink. In the more urban areas like Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, and Cape Town there are many fun activities that everyone can do, in Pretoria the Family can learn about the first immagrants to Gauteng at the Foortrekker monument and go sight seeing in sentral Pretoria. In Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal, you can explore the beauty of the vally of a thousand hills, this landscape is overcrouded with over one thousand rolling hills that seem like they are never ending. This is also the home of the Famous Zulu Kingdom, the province known as Kwa- Zulu Natal is in the native langwich.... Zulu. Kwa- Zulu means " Of Zulu" and Natal is the name givin to the region by the English, so to say Kwa- Zulu Natal is to actualy say " Of Zulu Natal". Here in the home of the Zulu you can explor the mistery of the Sangomas (the Zulu witch doctors) and learn about the Bloody past of the Zulu and the most Famous Zulu of the Zulu Kingdom... Shaka Zulu, the Zulu king who was a War hero to the Zulus. You can also experiance the thrill of the Zulu war dances and if you are lucky the magic of a traditional Zulu wedding! Another must do, is for one to experiance the hight and amazing views from atop the Drakensburg mountains. One must also go on a safari through the game reserves of South Africa for an African experiance like no other! One will love the white sandy beaches and big award winning waves of Durban's shores. In Cape Town theres always the signiture land mark, Table mountain, the famous Robin Island where former President Mandela Spent most of his life in prison, the prison is now a museam dedicated to the Blacks of South Africa who were inprisoned during the days of "Apartuid". A must for the older folk is a tour of the famous Cape Town vinnyards, where you can enjoy a evening of relaxation while tasting different types of wine, made right there in the very Museam.
I will recomend that everyone go and Experiance the beat of the African Life!!!
