Time to Read and Reflect
From Molo South Africa! in Johannesburg, South Africa on Dec 17 '06
December 18th: Happy birthday Daddy!
Today was the first day of getting to sit down and record some of what I've been learning. Lukanyo's back to work which gives me more time for reading and reflection as well. I'm already missing home in many ways, but I'm also looking forward to all that I'll see and time that I'll have for reflecting on life. Interesting to get a small grasp of how individual and universal life is for each of us. I'm reminded of a quote from our German friend Kerstin in Bath, England after returning from one of student trips to the ruins of Chepstow Castle in Wales, "Everything was big and small!"
"Everything was big and small!"
I spent the majority of Monday going over the events of the previous four days, did a bit of reading and worked on waning my Sudoku completion time. Lukanyo got back from his day at Bloomberg after 7pm, a story breaking 5 minutes before he would have left. I made dinner, a white sauce seasoned with pepper and garlic over chicken and rice. I plan to overcome my incapability in the kitchen, though I haven't come up with a concerted plan yet.
