The eve before

With only 24 hours to go, I'm feeling a mixture of being swamped, and impatience.

So I guess I should probably start packing. I've also got to tie up all of the loose ends at work, and hand them over to the capable hands of the boys. Not to mention that we're moving office, so I have to pack up here too. I've got a few financial forms to fill out, and some banking to do. Then there's talking to my flatmate and parents, and showing them the finer points of looking after my cat. I'm sure she believes that she is really a princess, and she likes to be treated as such.

This last week has given me plenty to worry about. Getting Graeme and my passports and visas back from the Russian consulate proved to be difficult. After I rang the consulate on Monday, they said that our visa's are complete, but they  wouldn't send them back as I never provided a stamped self-addressed envelope. Pity they weren't more clear they needed that BEFORE I sent off the application. With only days remaining, there was no other option but to get a courier to retreive them. $187 later, my passport arrived back in Perth... except for one minor problem; Graeme's passport was still left at the consulate. A big thankyou goes out to Gen, who arranged for Flight Centre's couriers to pick up Graeme's passport just in the nick of time, at a discounted rate.

And finally there's the airline scare with plot to blow up trans-atlantic airlines. It's not the sort of thing you want to hear when you're about to get on a plane. I guess I can only be thankful that airline security is going to be tighter then ever.

It's hard to imagine that there's only one more sleep to go.
