Summer in Eau Claire

Eau Claire is a nice size city with the population of about 60,000, I think.  There is a U of Wisconsin here, again a medium size college.  I don't know how big it is in terms of the number of students, but it boasts its academic excellence. I sat in in several of their  classes in literature  and in history several years ago and was really impressed by the quality of the staff there. The university is situated on the river- Eau Claire, I think, and the water sure lives up to its name- very clear- as clear as the eyes of a ... what do you call that  green bug with long legs?
