So we took the bus to Phuket, which took 6 hours instead of the 5 I expected and the 4 Dee told us. So we were a little nutty when we got there. Dee's friend picked us up at the bus station and drove us over to Patong, which, by the way, is insane. We checked into our hotel and then walked to find dinner. We had this brilliant idea that we should have non-Thai food, but in the end it just made all of our stomachs hurt. Apparently we are completely acclimated to eating Thai meals. So we wandered around supposedly looking for a karaoke bar, but we ended up just shopping. The vendors are a riot - I think they sit there all day trying to think of what to say to farang. My favorite (showing off my stupidity) Vendor: "Where you from?" Me: "No thank you." Vendor: "You're from no thank you?" Me: "Yup!"  I am very special. Also lots of stupid lines from movies. We walked down the major street of bars, which was PACKED with prostitutes. It was a scale of ridiculousness I've never seen before. There were definitely more prostitutes than good looking guys. Poor Natalie had never seen anything even remotely like it... although I don't think any of us really had. Anyway, after walking around for a while, Natalie and Caitlin went back to the hotel and Sarah, Palak, and I played a (bad) game of pool before going to bed.

Saturday morning we had breakfast and hit the beach. Sarah and I rented beach chairs and just people watched. Whoever invented the speedo should be shot by a firing squad. I have never seen so many enormously fat, hairy men wearing speedos in my life. My favorite (or least favorite) was the guy with a gut that could have actually fit a keg in it in a string, leopard print speedo. We all met up for lunch, we decided on Thai food, and I found a place that had Beer Lao! I was so excited! That afternoon we did quite a bit of shopping - I bought some really cool things, but I can't say what the coolest ones were because a few people are getting them as gifts. Caitlin and I went back to the hotel, showered, and went to mail the stuff I bought before going to an Irish pub for a hard cider. Everyone else was supposed to meet us there, but it started pouring so we ended up separated for the night. I had nachos for dinner and Caitlin had a mojito (she cant eat solid food, so why not?) and then we set off to play a (worse) game of pool. After the pool we stopped at an egyptian hookah bar (flavored tobacco for all you naive peoples out there) and then passed out earlier than we planned.

Sunday morning Natalie and I went for a walk which was supposed to be short. We ended up WAY farther away than we planned and got back in time to pack up our stuff and check out of the hotel. We got picked up and shuttled back to the bus station to head back to Trang.
