Feeling slighthly better today, we decided to venture to nearby Ko Phangan, site of the legendary 'full moon party' though we had most unfortunately missed it by a few days. we were also going to miss the 'half moon' and 'black moon' parties...you get the idea, though legend has it that it started off as someone's mad birthday party in the eighties and perpetuated as an excuse to have a purely hedonistic island of booze, hard drugs and sex with authorities turning a blind eye and perhaps joining in; actually i could be jailed for saying that... Anyway, still worth a visit...even though we could see the island quite clearly from the pier near our hostel, it still took 40 minutes to get there, which seemed odd as we were cruising along but didnt seem to be getting there...
'Besides the vomiting backpacker, there wasn't the anticipated stench of overindulgence when we arrived, just another stunning beach'

Along the way, got chatting to this Israeli called Idan (Eden) who proceeded to explain to me that almost every Israeli travels after military service and further alluded to the fact that half the people on this vessel were Hebrew...he said Ko Pha Ngan was 'practically crawling with them' :)
So, first thing i saw on arrival was some Brits vomiting as they chased the boat from which we alighted. Obviously, 'heavy night, no sleep, heavy pack' syndrome; totally empathise. Beach was pretty and it was an especially that day on Haadrin bay, where i continued to practice swimming and Olivia got most horrifically sunburnt even though she was careful with sunscreen etc...
