I was scared, yet determined to hike my first hike. This was, after all why I moved to Oregon in the first place.
So amid snow and road closures I drove to Bagby Hot Springs. I got lost once and ended up in deep snow before turning around and finding the correct road.
Once I got to the trailhead and saw other 4-wheel drive vehicles I felt some relief and excitement.
The hike wasn't long, but it was still three miles and for me, three miles was strenuous. I made it to the spring (Joy!) and took a quick soak. By then it was already starting to get dark. So I headed back and seemed to cross one more bridge than when I hiked in. Hm. Either I managed to find a loop somewhere, or my nerves were getting to me.

Next time maybe a little less on the pushing myself and a little more preparation and communication.
Overall though, I was happy. I came, I soaked, I hiked. Happy.
