Arrived in Hawaii, The Big Island

Arrived in good order on Dec 7th at 10pm in Honolulu to be serenaded the night through with the delicate sale pitch of Christmas music the night through varying from putrid to asinine. Howevere survival was effected and was met by Joe in the early hours at Kona Airport. I am staying in wonderful little appartment below JOe's with the us of his Honda Geo within easy reachof the beach and the small town of Kona surrounded on all sides by volcanic soil.

Good adventure after a week. Went to view the Volcano. Nothing much to see on the crater itself but went down the chain of volcanoes to the end of the road walked 3.5 miles with the help of some locals to the place where the lava pours into the ocean. The dangerous bit, you have to walk over the top of the lava tubes and it feels hot,fragile and crispy!!
