No More Nude Beaches!!!

'Some people stay away from the door if there's a chance of it opening up.'

Caught a bus to a small town on the SE tip of Crete called Paleohora. Not much to it, just a beautiful beach. Bus took 5.5 hours through unreal mountains and olive orchards, breathtaking, but a bit scary too. Had to change buses in Hania and had a couple of hours to kill, so we walked around and got lunch. We noticed that everywhere we looked were Americans, literally thousands of them. Turns out the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier battle group was there on shore leave. Amazing how young our sailors look. It felt cool to see all the guys, but it was kind of funny seeing these 18-20 year old kids strutting around wearing baggy jeans and smoking cigars.

Paleohora is really gorgeous. It's a small tourist town on a small penisula with beaches all around it. It's only about a 10 minute walk from one side to the other, but it's really cool. Unfortunately it is a nude beach, and I do mean unfortunately. While there are a few decent girls that decide to partake, the vast majority is fat European men that swagger around nude like they think people actually like looking at them. The women they are with usually aren't typically supermodels either and they I don't guess the American custom of controlling body hair hasn't quite caught on in Europe.

Heading to Hania to spend a few days then to Athens which I'm not looking forward to. Supposed to be the dirtiest city in the world.
