Laid over
From Slacker's paradise in Narita, Japan on Apr 26 '06
Following a good and proper send-off (thank you guys for making me feel so special), lena and i strapped on our backpacks, and boarded the first leg of our journey - Boston->Chicago. After a non-remarkable 2-hour "we are so excited about the trip" flight, we found ourselves stuck in O'hare cause the plane needed to be fixed. despite a planned four hour layover in Tokyo, American Airlines decided that we would definitely not make our connection to Bangkok. We ended up missing it by <10 minutes. on the flight i learned that the producers is a shitty movie and that american airlines is going downhill, if the flight attendants' attitude is any indication.
And then, my first taste of Japan. A night in beautiful Narita, a mere $200 cab ride away from Tokyo center. A hotel half filled by unhappy americans who missed their connections, with the other half occupied by a high school swim team. the hotel was frozen in time circa 1978.
