I think I`m turning Japanese, I really think so....

Japan was never in my travel plans but funny how things can change! A good friend of mine from college has been teaching English in Japan for the past seven years. The funny thing is that right after college, I told Trish I was gonna try to teach in Japan. She thought that sounded cool and decided to apply also. I ended up moving to Colorado instead and she went to Japan and has been there ever since! Anyhow, she told me about a job opening in her town and I decided to apply and got the job. Finally after 7 years I`m going to Japan to see her.

The flight was long as I had to spend 16 hours in the Hong Kong airport! I ended up curling up on a bench in the airport, locked my bag to the chair and slept. Derek decided to stay in Thailand so it was weird not having anyone to talk to. The flight into Hong Kong was the most beautiful I have ever seen. Apparently many pilots rate it as their favorite place to land. We were flying so low over the ocean that you could clearly see all kinds of ships. When the plane turned, I thought the wing was going to dip into the ocean.

When I arrived in Japan, my new boss picked me up at the airport. It was weird thinking I will be working again after being an unemployed bum for 6 months. Tomorrow I have 9 hours of training. So much for getting over my jet lag!!
