Waves Waves Waves

For now i am going to skip a few days. Well actually two weeks to be correct. When we got

to Puerto Escondido, it was like Argentina had arrived! I could not believe how many

people come here for vacation. I ask myself, Why do they come here and how to they know

about this hidden port of heaven? Chico told me that it is so inexpensive

beautiful that it makes it the perfect vacation spot. It is why you guys should come visit me. You can sit on the beach and read a

book all day long. You can be happy under a tree by the pool. You can eat vegetarian

food for $2.00/meal. It is incredible! When we got here we were sad to hear that the waves

had been non exisitant for the last two months! AHH not something surfers want to hear.

However, to our luck everyone left from the New Years break and the waves come. And they

came grande! The first day it was building, but the second day it was a pounding 12 foot.

The third day, today, fell slightly in size but with the off shore breeze becacame an j

absolutely glorious day of surf! I can not surf the main break in front of our house. Oh

by the way we found a beautiful house on the beach. In the morning we can climb a spirl

staircase that takes us to a open room that over looks the beach. We can tell exactly what

the waves are like and what kind of conditions it will be for the day. My favorite

part of the house is the garden. It is so beautifully green and full of fruit! The other

night we walked about one mile to the end of the beach where there is a break called

La Punta. It is a place that i can surf. It was a hard day getting back into the water. I

forget how challenging she is. THe ocean here is hungry! You can tell that she is ready

to eat you up. I have to earn her respect. It will take every day surfing and conditioning

I am ready for the challenge. I just finished James Mitcherns 'Mexico.' It was a fabulous

book. I would advise you all to read it. Well i must be off to see the sun go down over

the ocean. You are all in my thoughts. Love kelly
