Niagara Falls is one of those places that I thought was too 'cheesy' to be interesting. Once I saw the casinos that were built there, I thought I was going to be right - a total tourist trap. And there were a lot of people and cars that day.

But when I finally had a chance to see the Falls, I was in aweand realized that I have beenso wrong.Niagara Fallas isa truly majestic symbol ofMother Nature and the power of rushing water. Even the glitzy casinos and the crowds could not detract from its beauty.

It is a worth a visit

My local guides suggested that we go on the Maiden of the Mist boats to get closer to the water fall. I was hesitant about how interesting that will be but when on it anyways. It was actually very cool. Being so close to the falls gave you more understanding of just how tall and powerful the falls really is. It was worth wearing the uncomfortable blue ponchos.

After the boat ride, I had to eat. I went to the Bear Claws and the hot dog stand and the slowness of their speed made me realized that they must be smoking something on their breaks. Please just give me a pretzel!

When we were taking our long walkback to the car, welooked up and sawa tight rope walkers that walked between the 30+ story casinos buldings on what looked like to be a pretty thin wire. I think it would have been more interesting if the tight rope walker walked on a line right above the waterfall though. :-)
