O.K. folks. Most of you know me enough to know that I love spicy food. I have all the male STAR staff addicted to Tapatio, and in restaurants I have to ask for extra hot sauce. Most of you have seen me eat a taco with a lot of sauce, or some sushi with a bit more wasabi than you would. There's a secret though-I've been holding back! When you last saw me drown a taco in sauce and salsa, I wanted to put more on the darned thing. I've only held back because of social convention....I knew that I wouldn't be accepted with that much spice in my life........

O.K. short story long, I finally found a spice that put me down. There's a lady on Khaosan Road that makes Praw Krow, a dish of chicken, chile's, and vegetables served over white rice. I call this lady my girlfriend, and she always yells for me as I'm walking down the street. Her Praw Krow is one of the best things I've ever had in my life. She always asks me "Do you wan spisheey?", to which I reply "Yes". I can't eat it without a giant bottle of water, and several times, the spice was so strong I couldn't finish. This amazingly good dish cost a grand total of 20 baht, which is about 65 cents.

As for other food in Bangkok, it's been real fun. If you were starving and only had a dollar a day to live on, then Bangkok is the place for you. Everyday I get a mango for breakfast (10 cents). They eat their mangoes both raw and ripe here in Thailand, and for breakfast it's usually raw. I then proceed to graze throughout the day. I have no set time for lunch or dinner, I just kind of eat whenever the mood takes. Everywhere you look in Bangkok, you'll find noodles for about 20 cents, cooked right in front of you. I did go to a famous Indian restaurant named Rang Mahal. It was easily one of the top 10 meals of my life. At MBK plaza I had dim-sum for 30 cents, sausages cooked in chile's for another 50 cents, and a pulled tea for another 20 cents. Tonight I went back to Khaosan and had the very best falafel ever made. I bought it for about a dollar, and was eating it while making my way back to the hotel. Halfway there, I turned around and bought another one. I've had falafel in Europe and the States, and this blew it all away.

Anyways, there's my rant on food. If you know me, and how much I like to cook and eat, then you'll understand my passion on this subject.
More to come.....hanging out at the trendy Bangkok spots.........
Oh crud!!! Totally forgot to mention a few things regarding the cuisine. Sticky rice! It's cooked in banana leaf with mango or coconut. Usually costs 6 baht(15 cents.) Also my favorite late night snack is the banana pancakes. Very doughy (sp?) dough cooked in a wok with bananas and sugar, 15 baht(45 cents.). So stinkin good!
