The 20 hour trip here was tiring and taxing, but worth it as this place is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

The following has been my itinerary so far -

Such beauty I have never seen before

Thu 2nd Feb - Got here at 4pm after the monstrous journey (first of many such giant journeys that I will have over the next few weeks).  Booked myself into the hostel and freshened up before going out for the usual "Getting to know the place" walk.  Admired the wooden buildings and great snow-capped mountain and lake scenery.  Relaxed in the evening.

At the top!! During hiking.

Fri 3rd Feb - Highlight of today was kayaking in the lake nearby (one of the 7 lakes in the region), for a few hours and visiting a few islands.  We were supposed to get off on the islands but there was a storm approaching so we couldn't do so for safety reasons.  The activity nevertheless, was amazing, beautiful and alot of fun.

Sat 4th Feb - Hiking, Hiking and more hiking.  Climbed two of the popular "Cerros" (small mountains) and did a trek through the surrounding areas.  The view from the tops of the cerros was magical!!  Stunning views for miles on end.....all of more cerros and lakes, and snow-capped mountains.  Absolutely charming!!!  Needless to say that after the 7 hour activity, I was done for and had a quiet night (after going out for a post-midnight dinner with a couple I met on the hike).

Top of the world!! On the second hike of the day

Sun 5th Feb - Today was a rest-day.  The last two days had ruined me out so I slept in and chilled for the entirety of the day.  I also walked around the town more as I hadn't seen much of it.  Ran some errands too - bus ticket purchase, CD burning etc.  Relaxed in the evening, in front of the TV in the hostel.

Monday 6th Feb -   Left in the afternoon to get further south.
