First things first, Calgary is my home.  I grew up here, for the past 15 or so years.  Its a fabulous town with diveristy to cater to any taste.  Kensington Village is my stomping ground, through 17th ave is another popular location.  There are many places to eat, though the neatest are usually inner city.  If you care, ask me.  My reason for this entry to to go over my plans, preparations, and other such things. Preparation for what, you ask? Adventure!  I am going on an adventure to the Gulf Islands in British Columbia, Canada, for several months.  I plan to live, work and play mostly on Salt Spring Island, the largest of these. One might say i am an artist and gardener by trade, but though such things would be ideal to be paid a wage to do, it is not needed. I have a plan for work and such, but it hasn;t been confirmed so it may change.  I will try to go more play-by-play than detailed list of what i hope happens. I am planning to go out there by plane to Vancouver International Airport, then take a float plane to the island.  This is the most time versus cost effective route for me.  Ferries are also availible, though it is best to take them from Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island near the Airport.  It is early yet in the year, and too cold and wet to camp, which I plan to do for most of the summer. I am still looking for places to stay, but i am not overly concerned with finding a room, as tourist season is low at the moment.  My biggest jobs are to move my crap out of my apartment, and find someone to watch over the purring fuzz ball i call Ceo, my kitty.  I plan to have a co-worker take  her in with her family, but i am havign seperation anxiety a bit.  Packign was less of an ordeal than i expected, as i am keeping my tent and other 'roughing it' acoutrements with my parents, in Victoria, on Vancouver island, a short trip away.  The main thing is to pack what i need but not too much.  My backpack is almost full and i still have sunblock, sandals, underwear/socks, and whatever else i forgot to still stuff into it.  I will try to keep a runnign list of what i carry, as i am trying to do the minimalist 'backpacker' thing.  Anyway,

keep human, wanderers! Filament

Preparation for what, you ask? Adventure!
