The train from Stazione Ostiense in Rome, through Rapallo to Santa Margherita Ligure on the Italian Riviera was wonderful. The Olympics introduced us to these towns, as they are on the way to Torino. We rode through beautiful mountain towns and followed the seashore for the four plus hour trip.
We are in Santa Margherita until Saturday, taking the train again along the Mediterranean for an all day trip to Avignon, France via Genoa and Nice. We will begin our canal cruise for seven days on Sunday, towards Paris on the Rhone River.
