Good news is that Jean got us to our next destination without getting lost again.  The bad news is that we are back in country where lunch meats and melbe toast are the mainstays for breakfast.  Jean promises to make me a real American breakfast when we get home.

We are staying with a retired Amsterdam Homicide detective and his wife.  They have a little converted back area that they call a "cottage".  You or I would call it a fixed up shed but the company of these two really nice people more than make up for the accomodations.

Today we took the bus to downtown (central) Amsterdam.  We went to the Anne Frank house museum and then on to the Rembrandt museum.  A short cruise of the canals and then dinner at a steak house.  Bus ride home and that's enough for today.

Only two more days until Claudia gets here and we move on to Arnhem.

Back to Amsterdam today.  Coffee at the Hotel Victoria, lovely.  Walked through the red light district and to the town square.  Spent some time in an internet cafe, and dropped by a coffee house.

Theo had recommended a restaurant near the flower mart, so we went there for a late lunch, and then to a lovely inner courtyard nearby.
