Upon safe arrival in Vancouver ad a little bit of waiting we met Laura's roommate, Lauren.  The three of us have an immediate connection and are proptly best friends.  It was a meeting of old and new, roommates of course.  Laura lived with Kev and I for fourth year at Queen's.  Finally, east coast and west coast factions have came together.

We get to Laura's apartment and meet JP, and built a strong friendshup within minutes of introduction.  JP is just as much of an outdoor adventure nut as Kev and I are, if not more.  And he plans to really put us to the test.  Affectionately termed the Grouse Grind, essentially a 3km stair-climber.  Not overly long in distancebut incredibly gruelling for those of us not in the (ah-hem) best of shape.  Last I was and beers I did owe, but the feeling at the end was nothing but rewarding.

I believe that I will refer to Laura, JP, and Lauren as the Greatest Hosts Ever.  Not only did they plan amazing activities (and right up our alley), such as the grind, they refused to let us pay for anything!  It became a competition of who could get to the bill first.  Much to our dismay, they won most of the time.

Vanvouver was truly the most I could have asked for for the beginning of this Wanderlust.  To be cliche, great friends, great food, great times!

Side Note:

1st book to ditch: Wicked: The Life and Tomes of the Wicked Witch of the West - by Gregory Maguire.

Now onto Fiji, starting with Beachcombers Island and then onto Nananu.
