Cabo San Lucas is a wonderful spot in Mexico. I went there with 2 friends a our college graduation present to ourselves. We stayed at a really nice resort where the service was excellent. There are tons of great restuarants and bars in Cabo...my favorites included the Giggling Marlin where they will hang you upside down by your feet and pour a shot in your mouth for just a small fee, or you can just enjoy the live entertainment for free. Another favorite was Cabo Wabo, if you like rock'n'roll or just alot of tequila!

The most memorable events of our trip were the scuba diving trip and the ATV rental. For Diving, we took the lesson in the hotel pool and then proceeded to sign up for a boat the next morning. Our instructor was very nice, suggesting we take the earlier boat and then it would be just the 3 of us girls instead of 20 people withj small children and what not. This was really nice because it allowed us more freedom and attention on our dive. This was my very first underwater journey and I have to admit I fell in love (have since gotten certified and try to go as often as possible). We saw a variety of fish and coral. The instructor allowed us to 'pet' some of the things she picked up like the sea cucumber and a ray of some kind. The absolute best was when a sea lion swam almost right up to us!!! It was so cute but I'll admit even I was terrified a little b/c it is quite shocking to see something that big on your first dive. Overall, it was a great time and I highly recommend at least 1 scuba dive if you are ever in Cabo.

For a land activity, we decided that it would be fun (however cheesy and touristy) to rent ATVs and go on their offered tour. I think it cost about $50 or so. You sign a waiver saying that if you die no one is responsible and then they give you a helmet and bandana to strap on your face and off you go! Being 3 young ladies on vacation, we of course immeadiately make friends with our guide. We followed him through the commercial area of Cabo into the local residential district where we stopped for a beer and bathroom break. From there you head up a hill with desert surrondings to the "Lighthouse." We were only stopped once by a man with a snake with shich we promptly decided to hold for a picture. Next thing you know, our guide leads us out onto a beautiful bluff overlooking the ocean. We tore down the hill on our ATVs, being careful of course not to go tumbling over the cliff into the water and found that there were several trails to ride the ATVs on. We raced through these with only 1 minor flip of the ATV and had a blast. We were pretty much covered head to toe in dust and sand (thank goodness for that silly looking bandana over our faces). Our guide then told us that they were shutting down the beaches the next day to film the movie Troy with Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom. Our guide was actually an extra in the movie and later on sent us pictures of himself in full Trojan gear with arrows sticking out of his chest!!

Cabo San Lucas is a great destination. Watch out because this is a hot spot for California highschool students so it may get a little crazy in those summer months.

Sounds like you had an incredible time! Did you get to go swimming with the dolphins too? That's so much fun and you can go for a half hour or an hour. http://blog.reserve123.com/2008/12/dolphin-days-in-cabo-san-lucas/
