Prague
From The Journey Begins in Prague, Czech Republic on Aug 03 '06
The first few days in Prague were done with family friends from Germany on a bus tour (yes, in German.... very funny) where we had about 3 hours of guided tour each day then were on our own. The city is amazing, such gorgeous buildings and so much going on. The night life was great, and so many theatre and opera options would be great to see if I ever go back.
The castle area is now for the president and is enormous looming over the city, particularly looks nice at night all lit up. St Charles bridge is like something out of a movie with dark black statues on a dark old bridge, there are so many photos of Prague in winter and it looks amazing all coated in snow. Spent most of my time after mom and dad left wandering the streets and shopping.
I stayed at an amazing hostel and met lots of travellers to drink the local beer with. We went out on my last night and the club was nuts, girls dancing in cages, lots of stag or hen nights, and overall strange dance music, we were planning to go next door as that club is 5 stories of drinking and dancing, but by that time I was exhausted so I decided to sleep and catch the early train to Munich.
