Our final day of our trip was spent in Eger in the North East of Hungary. Eger is well known for its wines and we were keen to sample them.
After (eventually) finding our hotel, we wandered around town and admired the architecture and monuments such as Eger Cathedral and Dobó square.
Eager to sample what the city is well known for, wine, we headed towards the Valley of the Beautiful Woman, which conveniently forms a single word in Hungarian: Szépasszonyvölgy. The valley consists of many wineries that are all built into the caves, no doubt chosen originally because it kept the wine cool. Unfortunately most of the wineries only sell the wine in plastic containers, which we would have have been able to bring on the plane. Luckily we did end up finding a nice rosé that was sold in bottles so we at least had one bottle to bring back with us.

Content with our wine and our surroundings we wandered throughout the town and eventually back to our hotel where we spent our final night of our trip.
In the morning, we caught a train back to Budapest where we boarded out flight out of Europe and back into reality.
