We decided to leave Montevideo and go straight to Punta Del Diablo, a small town on the east coast of Uruguay, close to the border of Brazil.  The small fishing village only inhabits about 500 people, of which we saw about 10 i reckon!  There was no sign of life in this town!  Lots of houses, but no people but we liked it.  The hostel we were staying in was built by am american couple, aged 25!  Brian, the guy visited the town 4 years ago and had the burning desire to buidl a hostel.  It was very impresive what they had achieved, especially in a foreign country.  Not only did they build a hostel, but a bar as well.  We visited the bar the night we arrived and had the best seafood pasta ever!  Half of the ocean was on our plates!  It made a nice change from all the cows we´d eaten!

Punta del Diablo is a place to chill out and do nothing, which was nice for a few days.  Apart from a few walks along the beach, where we found a large number of dead animals (seals, penguins, birds), which we found a little disconcerting, we didn´t do much at all.  There was a great little ´pescaderia´ (fish shop) nearby, where we bought a mountain of fish for no money and cooked it up ourselves.  Beautiful Bernard!

There were a lot of dead animals on the beach!
