The Central Market, or popularly known as Pasar Payang by the locals, is located by the Terengganu River. It is one of the most popular tourist spot in Kuala Terengganu. A must-visit place for those who came to visit Kuala Terengganu. Pasar Payang got it's name from the famous traditional "Perahu Payang" which can only be found in Terengganu & was once the most popular boat used by the traditional fishermen.

It serves as both wet market as well as trade centre for the locals. It is the lifeline of Kuala Terengganu. It is a 2-storey building where you can find fresh products like fish, meats & vegetables on the ground floor. On the first & second floor are where you can find all the souvenirs, batik clothings / materials, textiles, silk garments & brassware items. Bargaining is a must when doing your shopping here.

I didnt really do my shopping here. All I got for myself here is the brass "roti jala" mould. Nothing else here looks interesting to my eyes - just the same old things !
