DAY 46 - 18 JANUARY 2008
Yet another packing and moving day. We left our luggage in the hostel and headed to a bank to top up funds etc. We had a coffee in the main mall and watched the people and world go by. We then found a bead shop as Scott has progressed onto adding beads to his friendship bracelets.
Lovely city that starts very late but easy to get around
Lunch beckoned and we found a restaurant on the mall and Scott demolished a huge stake and we tried a bottle of the local chardonnay. The wines so far on this trip have been spectacular and so cheap it is brilliant for our budget. We had a leisurely lunch finishing about 3pm and staggered back to the hostel and watched a movie then got our bags and headed to the bus station. It is finally time to say goodbye to Mendoza, the home of the mullet.

Our bus arrived late but was soon on its way. The seats almost went totally flat and the bus was really nice and clean with loads of room between each row, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. They fed us a late dinner which was meat based - of course, so Scott had that and I survived from lunch.
DAY 47 - 19 JANUARY 2008
The bus trip was fairly bumpy, with lots of traffic, but we arrived in Cordoba on time.
We decided to walk to the hotel which is in the Centro and which according to the map wasn't that far away. Anyway we eventually got there and were able to check into the hotel straight away. We had a shower and rest and headed out to the bus station to book tickets to Salta, but had a change of plan and decided to go straight to Puerto Iguazu to see the waterfalls and jungle. Great thing about not being on an organised tour, you can do whatever you want, whenever. Anyway Iguazu is 24 hours away by bus and we are leaving tomorrow, so today we are on a mission to see all the sites.

First up is the Central Mercado for lunch - Scott had, yep you guessed it, another steak and I had pizza and wine (of course). We wandered through the markets, which stock every conceivable type of meat, cheese etc.
Plaza San Martin was up next followed by the Iglesia Catedral and the Manaza Jesuitica. All the churches were closed? We headed to the supermarket and got food for the long bus trip and then partook of the traditional seista.
We had a couple of glasses of red in the hotel before heading out to dinner in the Manaza Jesuitica region after having a walk around some of the other plazas.
After dinner we walked back through the Plaza near the Catedral and everything was now open - so at 11pm at night we watched a wedding and then saw another one getting ready to start.
Cordoba men also like the mullet haircut. I wonder if anybody tells them they look stupid?
We headed back to the hotel through all the pedestrian malls that were lined with shops and people. We are really enjoying the lifestyle here.
