This is a lovely rather non-descript city with old buildings, trams and buses . Like most Australian cities, Adelaide has lots of parks and, of course, a botanical garden.

We went to a presentation in an Aboriginal museum. Unlike the Mauris of New Zealand, the Aboriginis were treated by the British settlers similar to the way the Indians were treated in the USA. They were rounded up and placed in missions just as in the USA Indians ended up in reservations. There is still racial tension in Australia as a result of this.

An aborigini explained how to play a didgeridoo, which is an instrument made from a tree root hollowed out by termites. In order to produce a sound, circular breathing is required using the diaphragm and lungs. It looks difficult and makes a very strange sound.
