We had a lie in until 10ish as both of us very tired. We got our free breakfast at the hostel then walked up to California Street to the local supermarket to stock up for the week. Came back to hostel to put food away and make our pack lunches before heading down to the city visitor information centre. From here we walked through Chinatown and into Little Italy where we stopped and sat down in Washington Square on the grass and ate lunch and lay for a while in the sun. After we headed up to Fishermans Wharf to Pier 39 where we watched the bathing seals and viewed Alcatraz in the distance. We looked around Fishermans Wharf and Andy bought himself an 'Italian Stallion' T-shirt (from the Rocky films!) we followed the road along the waters edge and up to Fort Mason where we got great views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Up here we saw a HI hostel which is in a much nicer area and close to the things we want to do so we booked ourselves beds for the last three nights of our stay. We walked back to our current hostel via Lombard Street (crookedest Street) and through Chinatown where we had shrimp chow mein for dinner.
