ok,  i know i´ve blogged a lot.  but i must share this experience....

every weekday morning we walk cristofer-4 and maria-6 down to their school.  it is about a half mile hike each way.  the way down is not a problem.  because they like to do things like pee in the stream and eat apples and spit the skin out.  they are quite adorable.  the trip up, begins my intense dire need of oxygen.  i pant, i whine, and i yearn for the sweet gift of 02.  later on in the day, about 2, we go meet all the kids as they hike up this trail as well.  as we met them at the bottom, we looked for cristofer and maria, but they were not there.  we assumed they had taken the short cut and would be at the orphanage when we made the summit once again...soooooo we get to the top, and the first words out of papi juans mouth were, ¨cristofer y maria´....i freak out....not to mention, i´m barely able to breathe.  the three interns turn right around and hike back down...morgan´s hiking total for the day 2 miles...yeah i know it doesnt sound bad.  but it so is.  ok so we figure out a plan and i take off towards their school... using the only energy i have left, ÃÂ´m still freaked out.  i finally get to their school, its vacant.  i turn the corner, and i see cristofers legs on the grass, keep going, and i see his body, lifeless on the patio of the school.  inches away his sister, equally passed out.   i run to them.  i thought they were dead, or at least had some traumatic experience.  i shake maria, and she opens her eyes are groans.  cristofer does the same, both of them out of it and and totally lethargic.  i looked around.  there was no one in sight.  no teacher, no anybody.  i couldnt believe it.  two kids passed out cold on the patio of the school.  it was heart wrenching.  with my energy level as that of someone who just completed a marathon, i picked cristofer up, and pulled maria along with both of their backpacks until i ran into nicki, another intern.  i was in shock for a few hours.  i couldnt believe it.  when we return home, both of them had fevers of about 102.  it was a pretty rough experience.  but it ended with two happy kids with snot running down their crusty faces.

from here on out.  i will be waiting outside the school doors.

Hi Morgan, Thank you for sharing your trip with us. We are very proud of you and are eager to hear more. Is there any medical help there for the children? I hate to think about their outcome without you there to find them. You mentioned what you had for breakfast, what about lunch and dinner? I pray for God's protection for you and all those around you. Love you. Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ted

You are such a blessing to those children and that place. Your compassion for those children speaks out loud and clear with every word you write. I'm glad the kids were ok and so glad you didn't have to experience your fear. God is truly with you on this journey and always. I wish you a happy 4th of July and will be thinking about you and Lisa and praying a very special prayer for you. Besitos, Jazz
