Another overnight trip, this time on a sleeper bus! It's exactly as it sounds and surprisingly comfortable! We were off to the beach for a couple of days' chilling. Our beach bungalow at Mui Ne was the perfect location, a long wide sweeping sandy bay on the South China Sea. A most energetic pastime was watching the agile kite surfers showing off their skills, and enjoying a few drinks at beachside bars.
From the peace and tranquility of our seaside idyll to the noise and chaos of Ho Chi Minh, a big bustling city home to 8 million people and 3 million motorcycles! With only a day and a half left of our trip we booked onto a couple of tours.

The first a day trip to the Mekong Delta; quite poignant as we started our S.E.Asian odyssey seven weeks earlier on the Mekong in northern Laos. The busy delta with its variety of boat traffic from rowing boats to large ferries, barges and tugs was a far cry from the uncluttered quiet waters around Huayxai. We travelled along the winding creeks to some of the delta's many islands where we sampled local fruits and cooconut candy- a speciality of the area.
Our final excursion was to the Cu Chi tunnels, home to the Viet Cong during the American war. We marvelled at how the determined Vietnamese fighters used this maze of tiny tunnels, so close to Saigon, to outwit the American forces .

And so, we head home after an amazing year of adventures....2007 was everything we hoped it would be and much, much more. We look forward to continuing our travels in the future and exploring more of this fascinating world we live in.
