Mundane Modena!!

Nicky and i decided to stop off in Modena on the way to Bologna. Well we got to Bologna, checked into our hotel then went back to the train station and caught the train to Mondeo-25mins by train. Modena had a good write up in the travel guide so us being us thought we'd go check it out afterall it was the home of Pavarotti, Ferrari,Maserati and Lamborghini!!! However when we got there we were greeted by more graffitti and more run down buildings!! The book said the cathedral was one of the best in Italy,so we went in search of that. We couldnt believe it when we saw it was being renovated and was closed!Typical! However from the outside it didnt look anything special and wasnt even that big! Just looked like any normal church!!!  Also all the shops seemed to be closed and the tourist information office was nowhere to be found! There are a few nice streets but i reckon the only time to vist Modena is in the summer as there is sod all to see and do off season! We saw no flash cars or the riches that you would associate with Ferarri and Maserati! Dont think the locals could afford a bike never mind a sports car!  Oh well as we said "been there, done that"-won't be back!
