The call of the jungle is loud and had to ignore, so we decided to leave the cold grungy city of La Paz for the greener, tropical town of Rurrenabaque. In doing so we took our first internal flight (40 minutes by air versus 18 hours by bus).

The eco-lodge is located some 4 hours by boat up the Beni river. Once there we spent 4 days looking for all kinds of exotic animals only to be told that the Pampas tours (read, low savanna wetlands) are better for wildlife than jungle tours. Doh! Anyway we still managed to catch glipses of a few lazy caiman, sneaky monkeys and feathered friends.
