Well after about 24 hours of travel and 4 consecutive flights, I finally made it to South America! I landed in Brazil where I was transfered across to the Argentinian border to Puerto Iguazu. Right away, I was struck by intense heat and humidity.

One of the benefits of travelling to India earlier this year is that everywhere you go is immaculate in comparison. I noticed that there was no crazy loud traffic or cows roaming the streets. They are also allowed to drive ATV´s on the road in Argentina. (Babbo, we should being the Rhino over). The streets are clean. And low and behold I found toilet paper in the airport bathroom! I almost cried.

After my first day of settling in and discovering the beautiful town of Puerto Iguazu, I went to the famous Iguazu Falls. In the national park, there are over 200 waterfalls on a 3km stretch with each having an average drop of 60m.

Going through the circuits below and above the waterfalls took all day. Trails connected many lookout points which offered amazing views of the falls up close. The most impressive waterfall is called the Devil´s Throat. A catwalk over the water takes you so close you get wet from all the mist coming up. As the sun was setting full cirlce rainbows began appearing amidst the roaring of the falls. Picture perfect.

Across the Rio Iguazu where the falls are is Brazil. Tomorrow I will cross the border again to the see the falls from the Brazilian side.

Well, describing today as a thunderstorm would be an understatement. After crossing the border into Brazil and entering the national park, it started pouring mad. Lucky I bought a waterproof jacket before I left at MEC!!

The trails weren´t as long or as strenous to get to the falls than Argentina. From this side of the falls, you can actually get right in front of the Devil´s Throat and take an elevator to a platform above the falls. Pretty cool.

Tomorrow I am leaving this small town of Puerto Iguazu and heading to Rio de Janeiro!!!
