When I arrived in Sydney I was feeling quite ill. I’m thinking it was the food on the plane cause there was a little girl close to me that was very sick. So I got through the airport quickly and met Belinda. We went to get my rental car, which I tried to open the wrong door....yes! driver side is the other side in Aus!So I ended up spending most of the afternoon in bed feeling worse and worse. Finally, I just chucked and started to feel much better. Soon I was off on my drive to Canberra. I didn’t get in until about 10pm and felt feverish so I ended up not going out, even though it was Sat. night.

Sunday I met up with Gae (My Aussie mum)Tania, George and their kids, who are growing up way too fast without their "aunty" Tonya around :-(. We all spent the morning together and I got a huge bag of my stuff from Tania and George. I’m sure George is grateful to have a little bit more space back in his garage. Then I met up with Dan in the evening and we hung out and looked through ALOT of pictures!

I felt my time in Canberra might have been too short

On Monday I ran into Jayne, Alex and Kaitlin at the mall. In the same spot where I usually see them, so it was kind of weird. A quick hello to everyone and then they were off. That evening I had lunch with some of my former coworkers at Villaggio, Sam and Jessica. It was really good to catch up with them and hear all the new goss, even if the food was not so great!

Tuesday I felt my time in Canberra might have been too short. I knew that I was not going to get to catch up with everyone. I went to the Oasis pool and found out that EVERYONE there that I worked with had left due to some issues with new management. So I called my former boss and talked to her for awhile on the phone and then I headed up to Villaggio to visit everyone that was still there. it was fun to see some of the residents and staff again. I also had a short visit with Ali, Nan and Jayne as well. After Villaggio I headed to Mawson for some of my favorite seafood marinara pizza and met up with Antony there. We hung out and talked for quite awhile and I got a call from John, which shocked me!and soon it was time for me to head back to the hotel.

Wed I woke up, packed up and headed out of town back to Sydney. I had to call a few people and apologize that I didn’t get to see them. When I got to Sydney I repacked my bag for Belinda and I’s 2 week adventure into the Outback. I was stuck at the airport for about an extra hour while it stormed outside. Finally I was on my way to Melbourne.
