Fun in Florence
Wow! Florence is one of those cities that is total eye candy. Everywhere you look there is another statue, building, church, or gelato stand. Ron has mastered driving like an Italian! With everyone’s help last night he parked on a sidewalk so we could all go to dinner. (Strategic movement of signage helped too!)
We think there were as many Americans in Florence as there were Italians…at least it seemed like it yesterday! Michaelangelo’s David was awesome. He is huge! The artwork we have seen on this trip has been everything out of my art history books from college! Rembrant, Da Vinci, Cranach, Duerr, Michaelangelo, and more. The Dome too was fantastic and huge; the downstairs area was so interesting to see the early stonework. We had a terrific dinner on a roof top…the calamari salad was out of this world!
We are getting used to the hunters gunfire and dogs….so far we do not know what they are shooting!
Kara now owns a Smart Car…well at least a toy one! Rich picked up a new Italian leather belt for a practical souvenir. That is all for now.
